WHY USE NEBRASKA RADON MITIGATION SERVICE?

NEBRASKA RADON MITIGATION SERVICE (NRMS) ADHERES TO ALL EPA RECOMMENDATIONS IN INSTALLING RADON MITIGATION SYSTEMS.  NUMEROUS OTHER MITIGATION COMPANIES USE WHAT IS DEEMED “MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS”.  WHEN COMPARING ESTIMATES ON MITIGATION SYSTEMS MAKE SURE YOU REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:

1.  USE OF SCHEDULE 40 PVC PIPE THROUGHOUT THE SYSTEM, NOT SCHEDULE 20 THAT IS USED AS A MINIMUM.  NRMS USES ONLY SCHEDULE 40

2.  IN MOST CASES THE EPA REQUIRES  THE RADON SUCTION FAN BE EITHER IN THE ATTIC OR ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE.  MOST MITIGATORS WILL PUT IT WHERE IT IS CONVENIENT FOR THEM, NOT WHERE IT IS AESTHETICALLY PLEASING TO THE HOMEOWNER.  NRMS INSTALLS THE SYSTEM WITH THE HOMEOWNER IN MIND.

3.  ALL ELECTRICAL WORK (SUCTION FAN) MUST BE DONE BY A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN AND PROPER ELECTRICAL PERMITS TAKEN OUT.  NRMS HAS A FULL TIME LICENSED ELECTRICIAN.

4.  NRMS CONDUCTS AN ON SITE EVALUATION OF YOUR HOME PRIOR TO GIVING YOU A BID PRICE.  DO NOT TAKE A BID PRICE FROM A MITIGATOR OVER THE PHONE.  “ADDITIONAL” COSTS ARE OFTEN ADDED AFTER THE MITIGATOR GETS TO THE JOB SITE AND PHYSICALLY SEES IT.

5.  IF A SUMP PIT IS USED AS A SUCTION POINT, IF THE OWNER DOESN’T ALREADY HAVE AN OPERABLE SUMP PUMP IN IT, NRMS ALWAYS INSTALLS A NEW ONE (AS RECOMMENDED BY THE EPA).

6.  WORKER AND HOMEOWNER HEALTH AND SAFETY ARE OF THE UTMOST CONCERN TO NRMS.
